Photographing your property so buyers stop scrolling

Buyers decide in the first three photos whether to call. A phone and a free morning are all you need to get them right.

You don't need a professional camera. You need daylight, a clean room and a little patience.

Before you start

  • Shoot in daylight, mid-morning, with every light on and curtains open.
  • Clear every surface. Fewer things make rooms look bigger.
  • Clean windows and mirrors; they show up in every photo.

How to shoot

  • Hold the phone horizontally, at chest height, and keep vertical lines straight.
  • Stand in a doorway or corner so you see two walls, not one.
  • Take the front of the building, the entrance, the living room, kitchen and each bedroom, then the view.

For plots

  • Photograph the plot from the road, the way a buyer arrives.
  • Show the survey stones or boundary, and the road width.
  • One photo of the nearest landmark helps buyers place it.
